Hello ASA friends and Family,
It’s the season of giving thanks and this year we give thanks to everyone involved in the ASA family. You, our members and students, our schools, affiliates, instructors, and partners that make up ASA are the reason we have persevered through the pandemic. We learned a lot about ourselves in 2020 but the most important thing we may have learned is that when faced with adversity we, as a sailing community, came together and supported one another. ASA is poised to head into 2021 stronger than ever with the lessons we learned during this global crisis. We want to thank the instructors who adapted to teaching with the COVID-19 restrictions. We give thanks to the schools that found a way to offer courses in smaller groups and in online settings while stretching their budgets thin to keep sailing alive in their local communities. Our thanks are also extended to the ASA employees who continued to keep the lights on at ASA headquarters. When the phones rang, they answered. When the orders came in, they filled them. When questions were asked, they answered.
Today, ASA thrives because of all the professionalism we have experienced in 2020.
