Rob Swain Sailing School is located in Tortola in the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Founded 23 years ago by our lead instructor Rob Swain we pride ourselves in providing a complete experience. Whether you are learning to sail or wish to gain bareboat or coastal cruising certifications our ASA qualified instructors who are all experienced yachtsman and women will help you reach your goals.
The BVI is called a sailiors paradise for good reason. Warm and sunny with year round trade winds and lots of tropical islands to visit it provide one of the best sailing experiences you can have.
We are based in Nanny Cay on Tortola. It is a full service marina with hotel and restaurants. It also provides a sheltered harbour for those starting their sailing journey with a Basic Keelboat certification on the IC24.
For those taking ASA 103 Coastal Cruising and ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising, we have a fleet of Beneteau and Jeanneau monohulls from 36’ – 54’ to accommodate you whatever your group size. We also have catamarans for those wishing to take your catamaran certifications.
We have been voted the BVI’s Best Sailing School 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014in the VI Property and Yacht Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards.
We can provide private charters and we specialise in family certification charters and groups. We can tailor our courses to fit your vacation and provide special pricing for large groups.
Want to put your certification into practice? We also have Bareboat charters and as a qualified student of ours you receive a discount.
Several times a year our boats go further afield, either down island or up north to Newport on the East Coast of the USA which are great trips for those wishing to gain some Offshore Passage making skills or just have more time on the water.
