At Bluewater Sailing, we offer sailing lessons in Marina del Rey, the Pacific Ocean, and beyond for beginners and advanced sailors alike. Our convenient location in Marina del Rey is just minutes away from LAX airport and within walking distance of hotels and great restaurants. With year-round sailing conditions, Marina del Rey provides the perfect environment for sailors to achieve their goals.

Inside the marina, you’ll face varying winds without waves. Outside the break wall in Santa Monica Bay, you’ll experience the open Pacific Ocean with its stunning scenery and wildlife; including dolphins, sea lions, harbor seals, and numerous aquatic birds.

Our experienced and professional instructors are all avid sailors, racers, and cruisers who love to share their passion for sailing. With small class sizes, personalized attention is guaranteed.

Our students have access to the largest student fleet in Marina del Rey. Once you’ve qualified, you can join our EZCrew program, which runs primarily on weekends, for more time on the water and the chance to sail with other students to enhance your skills.

In addition to our full curriculum of ASA courses, we offer year-round sailing opportunities that are both educational and fun. Our innovative programs include Advanced Sail Trim, FAST classes, Practical Local Navigation, Spinnaker Training, and more. We have a women (identifying)-exclusive program with social events, lessons, and sailing meetups, called sheSAILORbws. We also offer travel charter experiences beyond Catalina Island—a regular destination for our ASA104 class.

Understanding the terminology and physiology of sailing, combined with ample time on the water, sets us apart from other programs. Our 5-star Google reviews reflect the satisfaction of our sailors, and we invite you to experience our Bluewater tradition of “Practice Makes Permanent.” Contact us today to learn more about how we can teach you to sail and ignite your love for this incredible sport.

Learn to sail. Love to sail. Let Bluewater show you how.
