Our school building including a classroom, group meeting area and kitchenette floats on the water adjacent to the boat ramp in the Orlean’s Trail Marina. Our school boats including: a Rainbow 24 (designed and built specifically for the Annapolis Sailing School), a Seafarer 21 (designed for circumnavigation) an Etchell’s 22 fleet racer, and a Bruce Farr designed Beneteau First 36-7 are docked behind our building.
In addition to our sailing school, Lake Stockton Boat Works is a full service boatyard providing “most things nautical,” including: boat sales, service, restoration, electronics, engines, rigging, hardware, parts, sails, canvas fabrication, upholstery and transport.
Our facilities are inside the Orleans Trail Marina: they are the largest full service marine facility on the lake. Amenities include an 80 room hotel, fisherman cabins, a conference center, swimming pool, laundry facilities, the Lighthouse restaurant and bar, RV and tent camping, boat rentals, 500 wet slips, gas dock, pump out station, bait, tackle, ice and sundries. We are two miles from the town of Stockton, host to several shopping and dining opportunities.
Lake Stockton is noted as one of the top ten sailing lakes in the US, the wind almost always blows. Geographically our lake is at the edge of the prairie, the dam just below the confluence of two rivers, impounds more than 29,000 acres. The 300+ miles of undeveloped shorelines are host to numerous species of native flora and fauna. One can sail about twenty five miles.
