Whatever your dream — whether it’s sailing across the lake or through the British Virgin Islands, SailNashville can help you live your dream.
Learn to sail in just three days!
In just three days, our introductory course, ASA 101 you will give you the knowledge and skills to competently skipper a 20 to 27-foot sailboat. Whether you are a beginner, or just wanting to sail better, this is the place to start.
Complete our three courses—ASA 101, ASA 103, and ASA 104—and you will have the ability to charter a sailboat up to 45 feet anywhere in the world.
SailNashville offers its classes from Hamilton Creek Marina on Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, Tennessee.
Percy Priest Lake is a 14,200-acre U.S. Army Corp. of Engineer lake providing some of the best sailing in the entire mid-South region. The Corp prohibits development along the shoreline making Percy Priest Lake a green oasis adjacent to a large, vibrant metropolitan city.
There is also no commercial boat traffic on Percy Priest Lake, making it an ideal classroom setting for beginner sailing lessons.
Our classes offer 24 hours of instruction both in the classroom and on the water over three days.
Our classes are limited to four students. You never share a class with more than three students. This allows every student more hands-on time on the tiller and move personalized instruction.
Our ASA 101 course is taught on a new Catalina 22 Sport. The Catalina provides a very stable, but responsive sailing platform for beginning students.
Our Regular ASA 101 courses are scheduled every weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from April through November. We also offer Individual and Couples classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our ASA 103 and ASA 104 are offered once a month. Our ASA 110 Small Boat Sailing course is offered by appointment. Our ASA 111 Sailing Review is also by appointment.
