Discover the hidden gems of Baja California Sur!

Go Baja Sailing School wrote the book on ASA Sailing training in La Paz, Baja California Sur.

We specialize in immersive 6-day, 7-night liveaboard courses aboard our 45’ Dufour Monohull, featuring 4 double private cabins. Additionally, we offer ASA 101, 103 and 104 courses and certification opportunities aboard our 45’ Fountaine Pajot Catamaran, equipped with 4 double private cabins, for 6 days and 6 nights. Our ASA 101, 103, 104 and 114 Catamaran courses offer the unique experience of an onboard private chef. To ensure individual attention and quality instruction, we limit our courses to 6 students per boat.

Your adventure begins with a Saturday 6 PM check-in for our Meet & Greet all-inclusive Mexican Fiesta at Marina Costa Baja/Puerta Cortes, where you’ll spend the night in your private cabin onboard. Courses commence promptly on Sunday at 9 AM and conclude by 3 PM on Friday after a fulfilling week at sea. (At Go Baja Sailing, we prioritize maximizing your time with the most nights on board and full days of sailing.)

What better way to learn to sail than in the Sea of Cortez? With no Pacific ground swell, it is more like a lake sailing with much less motion sickness. Hernan Cortez discovered the pearls in 1542. Now, in a much more charted world, it’s your turn to discover these pristine, protected islands, jam-packed with marine life. Thanks to a rigorous marine protection program that has been in place for several years, you get to see the beauties beneath the sea that are protected. Isla Espiritu Santo, only 8 miles offshore, is now under Federal regulations.

The Sea of Cortez boasts a variety of sea life, such as parrot fish, mahi-mahi, sea turtles, large manta rays, dolphins, and even humpbacks, pilot, blue, and orca whales! How about swimming with whale sharks? Ever been on your not-so-afraid bucket list? We will gladly arrange this type of snorkeling experience for you before or after your sailing ASA instruction experience.
Four or more who book our all-inclusive liveaboard get free private car transportation to our sailing base in La Paz from SJD in our luxury van. The new, 4-lane, divided highway makes the 2-hour drive from SJD to our beautiful Marina Costa Baja a piece of cake. The amazing service and restaurants all around our sailing base make this place feel like home, certainly for us, but also for you!

Why not come early and stay late for champion Gary Players’ Ocean view golf course, ranked one of the best 18-hole courses in the world? We can gladly hook you up with a golf villa or marina view condo for far less than you would expect to pay anywhere else for this quality service and location.

On your way up from Cabo, stop at the famous “cult favorite off the grid” Art & Beer for the best Bloody Mary in the world with over 21 ingredients. If you’re not a bloody fan, what about a famous 5-juice Margarita or whole pineapple Piña Colada? People love to stop in one direction at the “Hotel California” for “Champagne on Ice,” as the Eagles song lyrics say, in beautiful Todos Santos!

Cold, rain, and snow do not exist in southern Baja! Our winter is your summer! The Sea of Cortez in November when water temperatures can still be in the 80’s clear through to June when nights are still cool enough that A/C is not needed is our 7-month high season.

Our “Baja Special” you can book to be instructed by our amazing male and female ASA certified Captains for as little as $2,195 USD per person in a double occupancy or $2,695 USD for a single occupancy in a double private cabin on our Monohull, all-inclusive, with Starlink Internet, 3 meals a day, ASA 101, 103, and 104 textbooks, along with an international logbook, and a free membership to ASA in our amazing 455 DuFour sailing machine (all in one low price!). On the other hand, we offer you the Catamaran Course 101, 103, 104, 114 sailing as low as $3,195 USD per person in a double occupancy, or $3,695 USD for a single occupancy in a double private cabin in our outstanding Fountaine Pajot. A $750 USD deposit for Monohull, and $1,000 deposit for Catamaran to reserve your private cabin and get your ASA textbooks out so you can start studying now for this amazing ASA sailing experience!
